                Re:        2005 Senior Events

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 30        Prom is on SATURDAY, APRIL30, 2005, 8:30-1:00 AM at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Downtown, 1200 Louisiana. School rules and policies are in effect. As such, no alcoholic beverages may be consumed. Dates of seniors, even though they may be “of drinking age”, are subject to the same restrictions.  Upon leaving the Prom, students and guests will not be permitted to return to the Prom or After Prom.  Registration for the After Prom is from 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM. After 2:00 AM no one will be admitted to After Prom.  Cost for parking at the Hyatt Regency garage is $10.00 Valet parking is available for $20.00.  Senior dues at the door are $100 and $35.00 for non dues paying guest.

                                                No students will be admitted to the Prom after 10:30 PM.

 

PROM PICTURES                Must be paid for at the dance.  Marc Nathan will take the pictures.  Price:   8 packages ranging from $14-$65 OPTIONAL Cash or checks made out to Marc Nathan Photographers, Inc. Finished packages will be delivered Monday, May 23.  Proofs for Party Pics will be available at Marc Nathan’s office one week after Prom or on-line. 

 

AFTER PROM PARTY        The After Prom Party is scheduled from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM also at the Hyatt Regency.  The party is free to seniors who have paid senior dues and their dates.  Any senior who has not paid senior dues and does not attend prom must pay $50.00 to attend the After Prom Party. The After Prom Party is a drug and alcohol free party sponsored and chaperoned by the senior parents and administration.

 

SENIOR ID’S                         Seniors who have paid dues will have their student IDs embossed the week of April 25-29.  AN EMBOSSED BELLAIRE STUDENT ID must be presented at the door of the Prom.  The validated ID will admit a senior and a date to the Prom and After Prom events. If a senior has a senior date, both seniors must pay senior dues.

 

EXAM WEEK                       Seniors who are not exempt from exams, will follow the same exam schedule as the rest of the school from  MAY 23-26.  ALL Seniors, INCLUDING those who are exempt, must attend school each day according to the final exam schedule or senior activity.  Attendance for exempt Seniors during the week of finals will be taken at each activity.

 

BOOK RETURN                   All books must be returned by Wednesday, May 25. Lost books must be paid for by May 25 as well.  Any holds for fines, dues, etc. must be cleared up before a graduate receives his/her diploma.

 

MONDAY, MAY 23              Finals for Period 3 & Period 7

 

PROM FAVORS                   Seniors go to the cafeteria to pick up Prom Favors and Prom Pictures at 12:30.

TUESDAY, MAY 24             Finals for Period 2 & Period 5

 

CAP AND GOWN DAY       Seniors wear their caps and gowns for the panoramic graduation picture. Pictures will be taken at 7:30AM on the baseball field. Seniors who are late or forget their caps and gowns will not be allowed in the graduation picture.

 

WEDNESDAY, MAY 25       Finals for Period 4 & Period 1

 

REHEARSAL                         Rehearsal will be in the auditorium at 10:00 AM I 10:30 AM.  All seniors are required to attend.

 

 

THURSDAY, MAY 26          Finals for Period 6 & Period 8

 

SENIOR BRUNCH                Seniors go to the cafeteria at 11:30 AM for Brunch.  Seniors may sign yearbooks and pick up panoramic pictures.

 

COMMENCEMENT            Hofheinz Pavilion, University of Houston. Girls are required to wear dresses and heels; boys are required to wear

SUNDAY, MAY 29, 2005     long pants, white dress shirt, and black/ brown shoes.  Seniors and homeroom teachers report at 4:00 p.m. to

                                                University of Houston’s Alumni Athletic Center.  Parents will enter Hofheinz Pavilion.  Remind guests that commencement is a dignified occasion that conveys the pride parents and educators have in the graduates’ achievements.  Individuals using noise makers or exhibiting rude behavior will not be tolerated.  Pictures will be taken by Marc Nathan as each graduate receives his/her diploma.  Proofs will be mailed to graduates for approval and purchase.  Bellaire High School is not involved in the handling of the money or photographs.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS           All announcements were ordered in February.  Graduates who did not order at that time may contact the Balfour Student Center, 2930 Chimney Rock. INVITATIONS                     

CAPS AND GOWNS            Caps and gowns will be delivered in the foyer on Friday, May 13. All caps and gowns are yours to keep.

 

COMMENCEMENT            Students not attending the commencement ceremony must submit a note from a parent or guardian to Ms. Greer prior to Friday, May 20 in room 218.

 

DIPLOMAS                           If book record/ library record and other fees are clear, graduates will receive their diplomas in a white envelope at Graduation.  If records are not clear, the registrar will hold the diploma until books have been turned in and/or fees are paid. Graduates who have not cleared their record will still participate in the graduation ceremony like everyone else and will graduate, but they will have to pick up their diploma from the registrar 8:00 - 3:00 June 6-9 or June 13-15, pending clearance of all fines/obligations.  A picture ID will be required to pick up the diploma.
