Clubs & Groups at BHS
All approved extracurricular clubs and organizations are required to perform one service project each semester that is outside of the normal club activities. The organizations whose sole purpose is competition or publication are exempted from this requirement.
Anyone wishing to begin/restart a new club, to change your current club sponsor, or to add an additional sponsor needs to see Ms. Devora Borik in room E246 during lunch PRIOR to taking any actions. You may start a new club only in the spring semester.

African American Association (AAA): The purpose of this organization is to address the needs of the students, to aid in their academic growth and development, enhance leadership skills, generate interest, and allow a chance for the students to show creative and artistic skills. American Field Service (AFS): AFS (American Field Service) is an exchange student organization that promotes peace and understanding. It also provides a support structure for all exchange students at Bellaire and information for those wanting to Host and go abroad. Sponsor: Anna Loonam, Room S162.
Anime Club: The purpose of this club is to let students experience the world of animation. Sponsor: Mike Mavronicles, Room S161.
Antares: The goal is to host Bellaire College Night and the completion of various service projects. Sponsor: Brian Wolf, Room E343.
Arabic Club: The purpose is to preserve the cultural and social values inherited from Arab ancestors and to promote unity and culture by means of enlightenment. Sponsor: Fadwa Saqer, Room 223A.

Kid’s Way: Service. A division of United Way. Kid’s Way students help to build parks in needed areas of Houston, assist patients and families in local hospitals, volunteer in other United Way sanctioned events. Tai Chi Club: The main purpose of the Tai Chi club is to cultivate and improve holistic health among the fast-paced yet sedentary nature of modern students’ life. With regular practice of Tai Chi one can achieve long term improvements on cardiovascular fitness, circulation, balance, and posture; increased strength and flexibility, and reduced stress.
