Parents need to bring 3 copies of :
-Drivers license
-Student’s birth certificate
-Proof of HISD residence
-Student’s latest report card
-Student’s immunization record
Bellaire’s World Languages Magnet Program serves students who live outside of the school’s attendance zone. Magnet students are transfer students who have a strong interest in studying language, and commit to taking five on-campus credits of World Languages.

Language Requirements:
1 Language for four years, levels 1-4 or 2-5 plus one year of a second language
OR
1 Language for three years, levels 2-4 plus two years of a second language
Second Language Choices:
If your first language is Spanish or French, the second must be one of the following:

*Magnet Students should be enrolled in Pre AP/IB classes above level 1
OTHER CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS: Magnet Students are required to maintain at least a 75 average in all classes, 80 average in languages, as well as maintain good conduct and attendance.
The Magnet Program for Bellaire High School is only for students who live outside of the Bellaire attendance zone.
Application Process:

Get a 2013-2014 Application for High School Magnet Programs from any HISD middle school or download one from the Houston ISD website. Please be sure to copy both sides.

Visit the school during Magnet Awareness Week (November 5-9). During this week, parents are invited to visit Bellaire to meet the Magnet Coordinator any day of the week. Presentation will begin each day at 1:00 in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Return the completed application and the required documents, listed on the application, to:

-NO FAXED COPIES-Applications may be turned in any time between November 5, 2012 and January 11, 2013. STUDENTS WITH INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION TO BELLAIRE HIGH SCHOOL. NO APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE POSTMARK DATE OF JANUARY 11, 2013 CAN BE CONSIDERED FOR PHASE 1.

In order to complete your application, plan to bring your child for testing during the week of January 14-18. The Modern Language Aptitude Test will be given on campus every afternoon. NO APPOINTMENTS NECESSARY.
Students will need a #2 pencil and picture ID.
